How to use (PPTP VPN Setup)

Windows 7: VPN PPTP Setup

1. Click Start -> Control Panel
2. In the Control Panel, click View network status and tasks under Network and Internet
3. Under Change your networking settings, click Set up a new connection or network
4. In the Set Up a Connection or Network window, select Connect to a workplace and click Next
5. In the Connect to a Workplace window, click on Use my Internet connection (VPN)
6. In the Internet address: field, type your supplied server (for example:1.gfwvpn.com)
7. In the Destination name: field, type gfwvpn
8. After double checking the fields, click Next
9. In the User name: field, enter your supplied username
10. In the Password: field, enter your supplied password
11. Some users may select Remember this password
12. Click Connect

Windows Vista: VPN PPTP Setup

1. Click Start -> Connect to
2. In the Connect to a network window, click Set up a connection or network
3. In the next window, select Connect to a workplace and click Next
4. In the next window, click on Use my Internet connection (VPN)
5. In the Internet address: field, type your supplied server (for example:1.gfwvpn.com)
6. In the Destination name: field, type gfwvpn
7. After double checking the fields, click Next
8. In the User name: field, enter your supplied username
9. In the Password: field, enter your supplied password
10. Some users may select Remember this password
11. Click Connect

Windows XP: VPN PPTP Setup

1. Click Start -> Control Panel
2. In the Control Panel window, doublie click Network Connections
3. In the next window, click Create a new connection
4. In the Network Connection Wizard window, click Next
5. In the next window, select Connect to the network at my workplace and click Next
6. In the next window, select Virtual Private Connection and click Next
7. In the Company Name field, enter gfwvpn and click Next
8. In the Host name or IP address field, enter your supplied server (for example:1.gfwvpn.com) and click Next
9. Some users may select Add a shortcut to this connection on my desktop
10. Click Finish
11. In the User name: field, enter your supplied username
12. In the Password: field, enter your supplied password
13. Click Connect

Mac OS X 10.4: VPN PPTP Setup

1. Go to Applications and open Internet Connect
2. In the Internet Connect application, click File -> New VPN Connection
3. In the next prompt, select PPTP and click Continue
4. In the VPN (PPTP) window, make sure Configuration: is set to Other
5. In the Server address: field, enter your supplied server (for example:1.gfwvpn.com)
6. In the Account Name: field, enter your supplied username
7. In the Password: field, enter your supplied password
8. Some users may select Show VPN status in menu bar
9. Click Connect

Mac OS X 10.5+: VPN PPTP Setup

1. Click the Apple Menu in the upper left corner
2. Click on System Preferences
3. In the System Preferences window, click Network
4. In the Network window, click the Lock and enter your password.
5. Click + to add a new connection.
6. In the following prompt, for Interface: select VPN
7. In the VPN Type:, select PPTP
8. In the Service Name: field, enter gfwvpn
9. Click Create
10. In the Server Address: field, enter your supplied server (for example:1.gfwvpn.com)
11. In the Account Name: field, enter your supplied username
12. Make sure Encryption: is set to Automatic (128 bit or 40 bit)
13. Click Authentication Settings
14. In the Password: field, enter your supplied password
15. Click Ok
16. Click the Advanced button
17. Make sure to select Send all traffic over VPN connection
18. Click Connect

iPhone / iTouch / iPad PPTP: VPN PPTP Setup

1. Open the Settings application
2. Click on General
3. Click on Network
4. Click on VPN
5. Click on Add VPN Configuration
6. Select PPTP
7. In the Description field, enter gfwvpn
8. In the Server field, enter your supplied server (for example:1.gfwvpn.com)
9. In the Account field, enter your supplied username
10. In the Password field, enter your supplied password
11. Ensure that Send All Traffic is set to ON
12. Ensure that Encryption is set to Auto
13. Click Save



14. Press the Home button
15. Open the Settings application
16. Click on VPN
17. Click on gfwvpn
18. Set VPN to ON

Android PPTP: VPN PPTP Setup

1. Open Settings and click on Wireless Controls
2. Click on VPN Settings
3. Click on Add VPN
4. Click on Add PPTP VPN
5. In the VPN Name field, enter gfwvpn
6. In the Set VPN Server field, enter your supplied server (for example:1.gfwvpn.com)
7. Make sure PPTP Encryption is enabled.
8. Click Save
9. Open Settings and click on Wireless Controls
10. Click on gfwvpn
11. In the Username: field, enter your supplied username
12. In the Password: field, enter your supplied password
13. Some users may select Remember username
14. Click Connect

Ubuntu Linux 10.10: VPN PPTP Setup

1. Click on the Network Manager in your top panel
2. Go to VPN Connections -> Configure VPN
3. Click Add
4. In the prompt, select Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP)
5. In the Connection name: field, enter gfwvpn
6. In the Gateway: field, enter your supplied server (for example:1.gfwvpn.com)
7. In the User name: field, enter your supplied username
8. In the Password: field, enter your supplied password
9. Click on the Advanced button
10. In the PPTP Advanced Options window, ensure Use Point-to-Point encryption (MPPE) is selected
11. Click Ok
12. Click on the Network Manager in your top panel
13. Go to VPN Connections -> gfwvpn
