  1. Install OpenVPN client from openvpn-2.1.1-gfw-install.zip
  2. Select and download the OpenVPN config files: n.gfwvpn.com.zip
  3. Unzip n.gfwvpn.com.zip and copy config files (ca.crt, client.ovpn, ta.key) to folder C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config\
  4. Start the OpenVPN GUI shortcut on your desktop. Right click OpenVPN icon on the system tray area and click "connect" button to use your username and password for connection
  5. Tips: how to save the username & password for OpenVPN.(This step is optional, not required)
  6. Create a txt file with name pwd.txt. In the pwd.txt, write your username at the first line, and password at the second line.
    Copy the pwd.txt to folder X:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config\, the same folder with (ca.crt, client.ovpn, ta.key).
    Then edit the client.ovpn, search and find auth-user-pass, and change it from auth-user-pass to auth-user-pass pwd.txt
    In this way, you don't have to type username & password every time connect the OpenVPN.

  1. Install OpenVPN client from openvpn-2.1.1-gfw-install.zip
  2. Select and download the OpenVPN config files: n.gfwvpn.com.zip
  3. Unzip n.gfwvpn.com.zip and copy config files (ca.crt, client.ovpn, ta.key) to folder C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config\ (For 64bit Windows, it's C:\Program Files(x86)\OpenVPN\config\)
  4. Right click the "OpenVPN GUI" shortcut on the Desktop, and click Properties. Then select "Run this program as an administrator".
  5. Start the OpenVPN GUI shortcut on your desktop. Right click OpenVPN icon on the system tray area and click "connect" button to use your username and password for connection
